Good morning Bill, thanks for keeping us updated on the the Flyers! I have a question about Patrick. Do you suppose that at the end of the season presser( whenever that is) that we’ll get a more thorough report on Nolan? I feel like the team is holding back on giving us everything they know. Also, cheers to Oskar!! Cancer sucks! Thanks Bill!

To be honest, no, I don't expect the info on Patrick to become any more in-depth than it has been about exactly what he's dealt with over the past year -- not unless Nolan himself chooses to do so. He's said there's been more to it than the migraine headaches, but has declined to elaborate.

I think you and I are on the same page when it comes to Nolan Patrick. Always err on the side of caution but you Bill, who have more facts than we do as fans, seem open to the idea but lean towards no.

Nobody has been on the ice in two months. If he can play, he should play. There isn’t much of a difference between now and September. Just like there is no difference if he’s showing symptoms between now and September.

Thanks for the reply, Bill! Hopefully the kid gets healthy so he has quality of life and then can resume his hockey career!

Most likely. Hard to believe, but at this point I’m starting to think that it’s more likely that we see Lindblom return to the Flyers (though not before 2021 at the earliest) rather than Patrick

I know playoffs run into June at times. But if it were to happen and the playoffs go into the summer guessing they won’t be able to play in certain areas. Can’t imagine the ice would be any good for any game in Tampa. Which I know they were already discussing a few venues to make it happen. Weird with no home ice or fans.

Anyone watch the fight last weekend. Combat sports are a little different but still. Weird.

Not too worried about the ice unless maybe if there are multiple games per day per venue. With no fans in the stands and the building kept very cold, the ice should hold up ok.

I actually believe the NHL not only should but must play without fans for the remainder of the season. I think it might give the Nhl an opportunity to gain new audiences for those dying for sports and you might hear player interaction both good and bad. I think fans wanna hear a bit of the chirping.

Also I heard the nhl is trying to mandate full face shields and no spitting on the ice. This is ridiculous. We’ve already watered down fighting, which I can agree to disagree with some of you. UFC isn’t going away. They spit, sweat and bleed all over each other for a living. You can’t ask players no to bleed.

I was there when he rung the game winning goal off the post after a beautiful triple deke. Half inch closer and the puck would've went in. My heart broke for the kid.

Watching Devils/Flyers 05/16/2000 Game 2 conference Final. Rick Tocchet scores and I’m reminded of the old foot in the crease rule. How dumb was that??

A lot of these games I’ve been watching have Lindros sitting out. Whether they have good games or bad games, you could really see how Recchi and LeClair stood out and took charge no matter who centered them.

Any time a player ended up down on the ice around the benches, all I could ever think of was how much bacteria and DNA he was wading thru. Nasty.

Just blow your snot/spit into a cup on the bench, if you have to. It's not so hard.

Yeah, just get the assistant coaches and trainers to hold on to your cup of spit and snot for each shift. Not hard at all...

Been doing some walking lately... Trying to lose my quarantine 15.
I realized about 1/2 way through my hike today that I don't give a crap if the NHL comes back this year anymore. The weather was nice and I just felt like moving on to summer. Sorry boys, I've joined the 'pull the plug' team.

We had a great run this year and it was nice to finally reap the benefits of Hexy's drafting and our patience. But just... why? Why bother getting this all cranked up again. I'm a HUGE hockey fan but sometimes you just gotta know when to move on.
....and I know.... $$$.
